We’re telling stories from the West Coast
Our West Press is an independent publishing house born in the West. We wanted more stories from artists, states, and terrains we recognized. We wanted to build them a beautiful home to live together. We wanted them to cover the breadth and depth of the human experience (everything from community to friendship to grief) in a way that felt beautiful, rooted, and with a little cowboy swagger.
Our West Press is that place. Come on in—the coffee’s hot, and there’s always room at our table for one more.

Who was looking for stories that felt like home
Whitney Popa comes from a long line of librarians and book lovers from all over the West (Washington, Idaho, and California, mostly). Her first “job” was collecting book orders from her 2nd-grade classmates. As the library volunteer in middle school, she was the first student to read Harry Potter.
Books have always been her favorite companions, teachers, and dreammakers. Our West is where she shares her stories alongside art from other West-based storytellers. If she’s not reading or writing, she’s probably driving a back road with the windows down and the music up.
OUR MISSION
TO SHOWCASE WILD AND WONDERFUL STORIES FROM WESTern voices.
