Welcome to your new favorite publishing house born in the West. We were searching for more stories from states and terrains we recognized. Stories that felt like home. Stories that felt like wild art. When we couldn’t find them, we built them a beautiful home where they could live together.
Our West Press is that place. Come on in—the coffee’s hot and there’s always room at our table for one more.

Am I a planet?
When Pluto gets demoted from planet status, his universe gets turned upside down.
It's 2006, and Pluto's enjoying some friend time while eating pizza. Then Mars comes over and drops a major bomb: Pluto has been officially kicked off the planet roster. No warning. No goodbye. Just...demoted.
Pluto spirals. If he's not a planet anymore, what is he? A supernova? A Magic 8 Ball? A pancake? (Definitely not a pancake-he doesn't want to be eaten for breakfast.) As he wallows in his fluffy robe, eating ice cream straight from the carton, Pluto faces an identity crisis that hits closer to home than he ever expected.
What happens next will surprise him. And maybe reshape everything he thought he knew about who he really is.
Am I a Planet? is a funny, soulful story about identity, belonging, and figuring out where you fit, especially when the world seems to have decided for you. It's perfect for kids 5-10 who love space, laugh-out-loud humor, and stories full of big feelings. This is a tale that celebrates being different and discovering what really matters.
